Think of us as L.O.C.A.L. service, always in season. We spoke with Amanda McCullough and Traci Janes in the Service Department. Read on about their insights in day-to-day service:
We are neighbors. Amanda remembers hearing how a technician walked into a restaurant wearing the H&H T-shirt and the proprietor gave him a discount, saying “You work for Trey Brunson (the owner)!”
Living in the Golden Isles also means living with “hard water” that is typical of coastal environments.
“Ice machines are our biggest commodity,” said Traci. “Hard water wreaks havoc on refrigerators and ice makers. Almost half of our service calls in summer are about ice machine repairs and filter changes.”
While service calls can be pre-arranged for six-month and annual checkups, Amanda and Traci hope everyone knows to change ice filters as often as needed in summer.
There is no 800 number to call.
“If you have an issue with your appliances and you call in, you get either Amanda or me every time,” said Traci. “We deal with all the manufacturers’ paperwork, so our clients don’t have to. When something doesn’t work, we understand it’s not fun. You need your stove, and your washer and dryer. We treat our clients as we would our mother on the other line.”

The two Hs stand for Mr. Hood and Mr. Harrington, the founders of H&H Service Store, which was a full-service gas station bought by Roy Smith and Ernest Nutt in 1932. Back then, the store was on the corner of Gloucester and Ellis Streets in Historic Downtown Brunswick.
Smith and Nutt kept the original store name and added new products over the decades. Furniture became a department in the 1960s. In 1973, Bill Brunson, Smith’s son-in-law, became involved in the business and upon Smith’s retirement, Brunson became President. Today the family business is guided by his son, Trey Brunson, President and CEO.
